Copy it straight off this page, or download it as a PDF or an Excel spreadsheet that opens in Google Sheets. No email required, no account, no watermark. Below it you'll find the same template filled in for a real 12-day Cologne–Zürich–Rome trip, so you can see exactly how it works before you use it.

City, country, arrival and departure dates, nights in town.

Name, type, address, check-in and check-out, cost.

  • Day by day

Each day listed with times, activity names, addresses and cost.

  • Running costs

Category subtotals and a trip total so the budget stays honest.

The template, filled in: 12 days in Cologne, Zürich and Rome

Blank templates are easy to hand out and hard to use. Here's the same structure with real content in it — three cities, a flight in, a train and a short hop between them, three hotels, and several things to do each day with times and costs. Copy the shape of it and swap in your own trip.

NOTES

Download it as PDF or Excel

Both files are generated by the same itinerary export Golarko uses for real trips, so the download always matches what's on this page. Take the PDF if you want something print-friendly to carry or hand to someone; take the spreadsheet if you'd rather edit dates and costs yourself. Both are free, with no email step.

Use the template in Google Sheets

If you plan with someone else, a Sheet beats a document — you both edit the same dates and costs, on a phone or a laptop, without emailing versions around. The spreadsheet download is a standard .xlsx, which Google Sheets opens and converts natively. You don't need to request access to anyone's copy, and nothing is locked behind an account.

  1. Download the spreadsheet. Use the button below — it saves a .xlsx itinerary file.
  2. In Google Sheets, choose File → Import. Open sheets.new, then File → Import → Upload and drop the file in.
  3. Pick “Replace spreadsheet”. Google converts it to a normal Sheet with one row per day and per booking.
  4. Share it with whoever you're travelling with. Share → give edit access, and the itinerary stays in sync for everyone.

The same file works in Excel, Numbers and LibreOffice, so no one on the trip is stuck with the wrong app.

How to use it

  1. Lock your dates and cities first. Everything else hangs off these. Write one destination block per city, even for a single night.
  2. Work backwards from transport. Fill in how you arrive and how you leave before anything else — those times decide how much of each day you actually have.
  3. Add lodging next. Check-in and check-out dates should line up exactly with the arrive/depart dates above them. Mismatches here are the most common reason a night goes missing.
  4. Then fill the days. Two or three anchored activities a day is realistic. Put times on them so travel between stops is obvious.
  5. Add costs as you book. Fill the cost line the moment something is booked, not later — the trip total is only useful if it's current.

Frequently asked questions

Is this travel itinerary template really free?

Yes. You can read it, copy it, and download the PDF without an account, an email address, or a payment. There is no watermark and no usage limit.

How do I use this template in Google Sheets?

Download the spreadsheet version, then in Google Sheets choose File → Import → Upload and pick the file. Google converts it to a normal Sheet you can edit, share with whoever you're travelling with, and open on your phone. No add-on or copy-request needed.

Can I edit the template?

Yes. Copy the blank version into Notes, Google Docs, Word, or any text editor and change anything you want. Add a destination block for each new city.

What format is the download?

Two: a print-friendly PDF, and an .xlsx spreadsheet you can open in Google Sheets, Excel, or Numbers. Both are generated by the same itinerary export Golarko uses for real trips.

Does it work for solo, family, or multi-city trips?

Yes. The structure repeats one block per destination, so it works the same for a weekend away, a two-week multi-country trip, or a family holiday with several travelers.

Do I need an account to use it?

No. An account is only needed if you want Golarko to build and keep the itinerary for you instead of filling in the template by hand.

Build your own trip like this, free

This template is the flat version of what Golarko does automatically: add your cities and dates once, and it builds the day-by-day itinerary, keeps arrival and departure times in sync, tracks what each piece costs, and exports the finished PDF whenever you want it. Free forever, with optional paid upgrades if you want AI drafting.

You'll get an empty itinerary shaped like this template — your trip, not the example above.
